Alumni
of West Virginia Alpha are
encouraged to give back
to our National Fraternity
and our Chapter. Annual
support to both is essential.
However, your gifts to the
National Fraternity do not
benefit West Virginia Alpha
unless your check is clearly
marked to that purpose.
Even then, only %5 of the
donated amount is available
to the chapter each year
as a loan. Please consider
making a gift to the Chapter
as well as the National
Fraternity.
There
are several opportunities
available to you to help
the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity
and/or West Virginia Alpha
Chapter while gaining tax
and income tax benefits
for yourself.

West Virginia Alpha -
You may wish to join scores
of WV Alphans that have
pledged to the "Preserving
Our History Campaign" for
West Virginia Alpha. This
campaign is designed to:
(1) Endow a Preservation
Fund for the James Cochran
House (chapter house)
and the Chapel, (2) Endow
a Commitment to Brother
Excellence thru Scholarships.
In
addition, the campaign will
provide for renovations
to the James Cochran House,
The Memorial Chapel, The
Goose House and Grounds
Beautification.
To
make your gift effective,
consider one of the following:
Cash: Cash
gifts are the most common
campaign gifts and may be
pledged over a three to-ten
year period. A pledge often
enables you as a donor,
to contribute a larger gift
if it is spread over a longer
period of time.
Stocks: Stocks
that have appreciated in
value are the next most
common form of gift. The
tax advantages to the individual
make them highly attractive.
Real
Estate: A
gift of real estate is
another convenient way
to contribute. If your
are hesitating to sell
some real estate due to
a potential large capital
gain taxes, you may transfer
the property to the West
Virginia Alpha Chapter,
Phi Kappa Psi and derive
substantial benefits.
Life
Insurance: This
may provide an easy way
to make a substantial
gift. You may be one of
the fortunate people whose
life insurance has outlived
its original purpose.
A policy can be assigned
to the West Virginia Alpha
Chapter; Phi Kappa Psi
Fraternity whether it
is paid up, partially
paid up, or is a new policy.
Gifts
Through Will: While
current gifts are needed,
you are not limited to
this form of giving. By
making a request to the
West Virginia Alpha Chapter,
Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity
you can help ensure the
future of our Chapter.
Or, you may consider leaving
your assets in Trust,
assigning the income to
one or two beneficiaries
and the Trust principal
to the Fraternity.
Other
Forms of Giving: These
include life income plans
and trusts, and commemorative
or memorial gifts. There
are a variety of plans
which can brign immediate
benefits to you.
